Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"I walked in without a reservation, not realizing that it would be so busy on a Wednesday evening. The staff was accommodating and friendly. They sat me at a window seat in the front and it was perfectly comfortable. I have to say that I was looking forward to a traditional Austrian meal and was not disappointed. The goulash & dumplings were excellent."
"Food was great. The Pork schnitzel was delicious, we also had the goat cheese salad and the spicy sausage. And of course dessert."
"We found Sissi Restaurant online and, given its excellent ratings, my partner and I decided to give it a try as it was close to the hotel where we were staying. We reserved a table via OpenTable as it allows same-day bookings, whereas their own website does not accept reservations for the same day. The service was excellent – attentive, warm and friendly – and I must say it served the best schnitzel we had during our trip to Berlin. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to return on our last evening before leaving Berlin. We tried the veal, pork and chicken schnitzel, and the chicken was our favourite, especially with the warm potato and cucumber salad. This place is a must-try!"
"We found Sissi while searching for a good place for dessert and it was a spot on!! I’ve never tasted better apple strudel than there - perfectly baked, served with delicious ice-cream - highly recommend! The service was quick and professional."
"Half way through the starter before taking picture because it’s so good! The beef soup and the veal schnitzel were the highlight!"
"Lovely restaurant on the edge of the gay area of berlin. I actually found it with a google search for “Schnitzel near me”. It was just around the corner. I arrived fairly early at 6 so was able to get a seat in the window. Service was friendly and effecient. The veal schnitzel was very tasty and a huge serve. Went perfectly with the cucumber potato salad. From how quickly people were arriving I would definitely recommend booking. Worth the trip."
"We enjoyed a fantastic night in Sissi last night celebrating our anniversary. We had the sharing menu - a Culinary journey through Austria - and while there was a lot of food overall, it was an absolutely delectable set of dishes and a delight for the taste buds from start to finish! Once we got a handle on our pacing, we were able to savour each part of the meal. It’s difficult to pinpoint highlights, but we adored the Tarte "Alsatian style" and Viennese goulash w/ white bread dumplings. The atmosphere was warm and homely. Our servers were friendly, attentive and fun, and added another layer of positivity to the whole experience! Thank you both. When we revisit Berlin, we will be back!"
"We had an excellent meal at Sissi, It was well worth the journey. Very unassuming restaurant from the outside, but once inside we were guided through the bar to an upstairs restaurant, which was fairly rustic, homely and kitsch. Homemade bread with an intense (in a good way) tahini flavour was a lovely starting addition. The stand out dish was this starter (only photo) Alsation tart with mountain cheese and bacon, the Pumpkin soup was also amazing! Main courses of Veal Schnitzel, and Vieniese Goulash were great, but quite filling, hence no pudding! Rioja was ideal pairing and all in all a fab night. We would recommend for something traditional in a kookie environment. The staff were amazing and very attentive,"
